What is ILO
WHAT IS ILO?
Induced laryngeal obstruction
ILO is difficulty breathing caused by dynamic obstructions of the larynx. The obstructions are most commonly provoked by exercise, in which case referred to as exercise-induced laryngeal obstruction (EILO). EILO peaks at maximum exercise, and ends shortly after. This obstruction can cause a wheezing sound. EILO is often confused with asthma, but they can co-exist.
